Exams & Cleanings
A dental exam and cleaning are two of the most critical aspects of your oral care routine. During an exam at Allen Phillips Dentistry, our dentist will examine your teeth, gums, tongue, jaw, and neck for signs of common dental problems. During a cleaning appointment, we look at the teeth and gums for any signs of damage or infection. We remove plaque and tartar from the teeth, which helps prevent cavities and periodontal disease. Then, we perform a fluoride treatment to strengthen the enamel and prevent decay. Finally, we do a thorough polishing to give the teeth a beautiful shine.
General & Cosmetic Restoration
When a tooth is damaged, a dental restoration is used to restore its function and appearance. Dental restorations can repair most of your teeth’s functions, including chewing and speaking. They can also help fix a number of common dental issues, including tooth decay, cracks, and fractures. The benefits of having a dental filling include restoring a tooth’s strength and functionality, as well as preventing further decay and possible tooth loss. A cavity can be a hole in a tooth or anywhere in or on a tooth where you can’t see or feel it. Bacteria in the mouth break down food particles and produce acids, which damage the enamel.
Tooth Whitening
Food and drinks are some of the most common culprits of tooth discoloration. The enamel on our teeth is porous; over time, this substance will become stained from exposure to dark-colored liquids like coffee or red wine. Tobacco can also stain your teeth, yellowing them and making your smile less appealing than before.
We have custom take-home whitening trays and gels, designed to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your home. Contact us for details.
Crowns, Bridges & Root Canals
A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over a tooth to restore its shape, size, and strength and improve its appearance or to improve its alignment. Crowns can be made entirely of metal, entirely of porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal. A dental bridge is a set of one or more artificial teeth that closes the gap between two teeth. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.

Dental Implants & Partials
Dental implants are replacement tooth roots that provide a strong foundation for permanent or removable artificial teeth. They are small and slim, making them a comfortable fit in a patient’s mouth. Just like natural tooth roots, they prevent the jaw from losing bone mass. When replacing missing teeth, dentists often recommend implants because they look and feel more like natural teeth than other restorations. They can replace one missing tooth or several missing in a row.
Emergency Services
When your tooth suddenly breaks or chips, you have a sudden onset of severe tooth pain, you experience significant trauma to your mouth or face, or you lose a tooth out of your mouth, you should seek emergency dental care at Allen Phillips Dentistry, as soon as possible. This is because any of these situations can result in pain or discomfort that can get worse or become infected and put you at risk for further complications. We can perform necessary procedures such as restorative root canal therapy to repair damaged teeth, or tooth extraction to prevent further damage or infection.
Appliances for Snore and Sleep Apnea Patients
Oral appliances can be a great choice for treating snoring and sleep apnea. Where the CPAP was once the gold standard in sleep apnea treatment, oral appliances have recently emerged as a new viable solution.
These appliances are small, acrylic apparatus that fits on the upper and lower teeth like a retainer. The appliances are worn while the patient sleeps, modifying the position of the jaw. The appliances move the lower jaw slightly forward, causing the muscles and soft tissue of the upper airway to tighten, keeping the air pathway open and preventing the patient from experiencing a disruption in breathing.

Not only is this appliance quite effective in treating snoring and sleep apnea, but patients find it to be very comfortable. The appliance is discreet, eliminating the noise and bulk that come with the conventional CPAP machine and it is exceptionally durable so you won’t have to worry about frequent repairs or replacements with normal use.
